Senior director of environmental operations shares her nine-year career experience at Children’s Minnesota

At Children’s Minnesota, we believe children always come first. They are awesomely resilient. Eternally optimistic. Totally fearless. They are what we want to be when we grow up.

Tracy Venne, senior director of environmental operations, has been working at Children’s Minnesota for nine years now. She will be sharing all her favorite things about working at Children’s Minnesota below.

What’s your position and how long have you been at Children’s Minnesota?

“I am the senior director of environmental operations and I’ve been at Children’s Minnesota for nine years.”

Tell us why you like your job and position.

“I enjoy my role because of the amazing teams I am able to work with every day. I am truly blessed to work alongside excellent leaders and dedicated, hard-working team members. Although my teams are not usually working directly with patients, they play a critical support role to ensuring patients, families, visitors and staff have a safe and positive experience while at Children’s Minnesota.”

What do you like about working in this field/department?

“When patients, families, visitors and staff know they can rely on Children’s Minnesota to provide for their safety and security, maintain a clean environment, provide nutritious food options and have emergency plans in place at our campuses, then my teams have done their job. We provide these support services each and every day so people do not have to think or worry about their safety and security. This allows staff and families the ability to focus on the patient. In my department, each day brings on new challenges and rewards. I enjoy being able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, ever-changing and patient-centered environment.”

Why do you like working at Children’s Minnesota?

“Children’s Minnesota is a special place for patients and families. We go above and beyond to ensure one of the most stressful times for families can be as comforting as possible. I love our mission and values and how they are lived out each and every day by our team members. Being able to contribute my talents to The Kids Experts™ culture has special meaning and purpose.”
