Hospitalist Program

Your child’s champion from check-in to check-out

At Children’s Minnesota, we know that world-class healing takes world-class teamwork. On the general medical/surgical units at Children’s, hospitalists lead that team and are among the first faces a child sees. The hospitalists also confer with the referring doctor and the patient’s pediatrician to gather information and plan for first-rate care. Our mission: to provide a safe, healing hospital experience from admission to discharge, complete with well-transitioned follow-up care.

Why hospitalists

Children’s pediatric hospitalists are board-certified pediatricians and advanced practice nurses who have dedicated their careers to caring for acutely ill and injured kids. We understand that every day your child’s in the hospital is a huge day for your family. And we go the extra mile to get kids home as quickly and safely as possible.

Being on site 24/7 means hospitalists can truly be there for patients, families and the entire care team anytime of the day or night. We dedicate ourselves to the details of your child’s care, whether we’re arranging a specialist consult or an uplifting visit from one of our pet therapy dogs. And as a parent, you get peace of mind knowing that if problems pop up, expert help is right down the hall.
