MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL (March 21, 2022) – Children’s Minnesota is pleased to announce that Caroline Njau, senior vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer, is one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Emerging Leaders of 2022. Modern Healthcare — the leader in health care business news, research and data — annually honors emerging leaders who are 40 years or younger, who have made significant contributions in the areas of innovation and financial, operational and clinical excellence early in their careers.
“I’m honored and humbled to receive this recognition, and to be considered among such a talented group of emerging healthcare leaders across the country,” said Caroline. “This award is also a testament to the kid experts on my team who, during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, continually provide exceptional care to the patients and families we serve, day in and day out. My achievements are not possible without their support.”
Caroline joined Children’s Minnesota in March 2021. Among her significant successes of the last 12 months: development of a longer-term recruitment and retention strategy; formation of a wellbeing resource team to help employees process feelings of distress caused stress; support for the launch of activating our resiliency workshops to help nursing teams identify and overcome burnout; and the formation of partnerships with local colleges of nursing to share her skills and foster a pipeline of new nursing talent.
