Lights, camera, action! January 2023 marks 15 years for Star Studio, Children’s Minnesota’s in-house TV studio.
Kids should get to be kids, no matter what they’re going through. For 15 years, that’s been the driving force behind Star Studio, Children’s Minnesota’s donor-funded in-house TV station at our Minneapolis and St. Paul hospitals. Star Studio provides an oasis of lighthearted, upbeat entertainment for our patients and families, and allows kids to be kids while they’re in the hospital.
Fifteen years ago, on Jan. 3, 2008, Star Studio’s lights turned and cameras rolled for their first-ever aired live show, The Can Can Café, for our patients and families at Children’s Minnesota.
Since then, Star Studio has grown to provide 24/7 programming for kids and also produces multiple live, interactive TV shows like The Clubhouse and Bingo, featuring Star Studio producer and memorable on-air personality, The Dude.
Every time the camera rolls at Star Studio, they successfully manage to put smiles on kids’ faces – whether they’re in the hospital for a few days, a few months, or multiple times throughout their childhood.
Star Studio unveils new, modern logo
To kick off their 15th anniversary, Star Studio also revealed a new, modern logo to represent the playful and lighthearted spirit of Star Studio and connection to the Children’s Minnesota brand.
