Ronald McDonald House in Minneapolis

Children’s Minnesota partners with Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest to provide the Ronald McDonald House inside our Minneapolis hospital. This beautiful and spacious House is the largest in-hospital facility in the Upper Midwest. The House offers families of children in intensive care units a comfortable place to rest and recharge, just steps away from their child’s bedside.

8 a.m.-10 p.m. daily

Who is eligible?

The House serves families with children receiving treatment in intensive care units. Unique to this in-hospital program, there are no mileage requirements for families to access services at Ronald McDonald House.

  • Day use is automatically granted for families of patients in CVCC, ICC, NICU and PICU. To get started, a family member can register at the Ronald McDonald House front desk with a staff member.
  • Overnight sleeping rooms can be requested by families and are coordinated through social work.

Features of the Ronald McDonald House include:

  • 15 private rooms (including two suites), each with its own bathroom, TV and phone
  • Three meals a day, including grab-and-go selections
  • Self-serve pantry for a quick meal or snack
  • Coffee and tea
  • Toiletries available upon request
  • WiFi
  • Relaxing lounge with a TV, fireplace, board games and reading materials
  • Laundry facilities
  • Exercise area and outdoor patio
  • Supportive community for families
