Patient rights and privacy

Translation: Spanish

At Children’s Minnesota, we want to be your family’s partner in raising healthier children. As part of that partnership, we are dedicated to making your stay a comfortable and positive experience and want you to know about the rights and responsibilities you have when your child is in our care.

Please note that these materials are also available in a printed brochure format. To get a printed version of any of the documents mentioned below please talk with someone on your child’s care team or contact the Family Resource Center at Children’s – Minneapolis or Children’s – St. Paul.

Patient rights and responsibilities

We want to make sure you are aware of and understand your rights and responsibilities. See our statement of patient rights and responsibilities (also available as a printer-friendly PDF). It has important information on your responsibilities, how to address concerns you may have, pain management, patient safety and health care directives.

Children’s Minnesota medical information privacy practices

The Children’s Minnesota Notice of Privacy Practices (PDF) describes how medical information about our patients may be used and how you can get access to this information. The statement also outlines your rights.
