Is a COVID-19 test needed before surgery?
Yes, children scheduled for surgery should get a COVID-19 test within three days of surgery. The test helps decide the best timing for your child’s care. If your child does not get tested for COVID-19, the surgery could be delayed. Learn more about preparing for surgery with COVID-19 precautions »
What are considered clear liquids when following eating and drinking guidelines?
Examples of clear liquids include: clear Popsicles®, apple juice, Gatorade®, Jell-O®, Kool-Aid® or soft drinks. Learn more about eating and drinking guidelines.
Who can I call if I have questions about surgery?
You will get a call from a Children’s Minnesota nurse before surgery. This is a great time to ask questions. If you haven’t received a call from a Children’s Minnesota nurse by the day before surgery, or if you have questions, call:
